U.S. Government's Agricultural Land Grab with Margaret Byfield
The Biden administration has a stated goal of conserving 30% of the U.S. land and waters by the year 2030. What does that look like and how do they intend to accomplish that goal? Margaret Byfield was the first to discover and report on this issue. She joins Jim again to give an update on the creation of Natural Asset Companies. She also explains what conservation easements, or what she calls conservation servitude, is and how the federal government are using them to take over agricultural land. She talks about the pitfalls of signing on to an easement and the things that should be considered before signing.
